SOCIAL PROJECTS IN DOORNAKKERS
Have a look to the Russian students work in Doornakkers!

Ever since the beginning of the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, we have welcomed 3 Russian students into the Doornakkers neighborhood. Thanks to our alliancepartner Woonbedrijf and Stichting Ruimte we were able to actually house the social design/architecture&planning students in Doornakkers. But in its place, we have asked the students to give something in return to Doorakkers. Therefore, the students were inaugurated into the concept of placemaking and the LICI ideas.

Some time ago, we told you about the next pilot project in Eindhoven: the social sofa. Now the project is progressing & residents chose the design of social sofa among the artists proposals. Now the design is chosen, everyone will work with the artist to achieve the social sofa.

Workshops in progress and Social Sofa needs a design!
Next May 2012 we will start with the placemaking workshops for our project areas in Doornakkers, Eindhoven.

Our projectareas in Eindhoven are a bit different from the other project places of our project partners. In both cases we speak of closed urban spaces of former primary schools which have been closed down in 2009.
