After its kick off in March 2011, INTERREG IVB project Lively Cities starts now the pilot tests stage until the end of 2012.
It's about fifteen spaces in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and United Kingdom which have been sift trought. Counting, public consultations, surveys, on site interviews, SWOT analyses (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)... led by partners together & separately, allow us to create a profile of eash public space in order to define their positionning and identity.

Welcome on the Lively Cities' blog, an INTERREG IVB European project to give back public space to communities.
You'll discover the partners' work, the meetings with involved communities, the public spaces' evolution, various pilot tested, actions implemented, etc....
This blog is an opportunity to know more about place making and place management, overseas concepts leaning on re-thinking public space according to users and not only design, by taking into account actual or potential users.
